Homenomics Waterproofing Joint Band
Waterproof Joint Band | 5 in × 33 ft | 5 in × 98.5 ft
Seal every joint for total waterproof protection.
The perfect companion to the Homenomics Uncoupling Membrane ensures no water seeps through seams, edges, or corners.
- Prepare the Surface
Ensure the subfloor and membrane are clean, dry, and free from dust or debris.
All membrane seams should be abutted (not overlapped) and properly bonded to the subfloor with thin-set mortar.
- Apply Thin-Set Mortar
Using an unmodified thin-set mortar, apply a thin, even layer directly over the seam where two uncoupling membrane sheets meet or where the membrane meets a wall or plumbing intrusion.
- Embed The Waterproofing Band
Lay the Homenomics Waterproofing Joint Band over the fresh mortar.
Press firmly using the flat side of your trowel, starting from the center and working outward to eliminate air bubbles and excess mortar.
- Overlap & Seal
Ensure the band overlaps each side of the uncoupling membrane by at least 2 inches.
For corners or pipe penetrations, cut the band carefully and seal all exposed edges with additional mortar for a complete watertight barrier.
- Continue Installation
Once the seams are sealed and smooth, continue with the tile installation as normal.
Allow the mortar to cure according to manufacturer instructions before exposing it to water or setting tile.
